Jamat holds talk with US envoy in Bangladesh

A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami met US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur on Thursday in Dhaka for a cordial courtesy meeting.

The meeting took place at the residence of US Ambassador in Dhaka in a friendly and cooperative atmosphere, according to a press release.

The Jamaat delegation was led by the party’s Dr Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Nayeb-e-Ameer and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

Other members included Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central Executive Council Member Saiful Alam Khan, Foreign Affairs Consultant Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and Special Adviser on Foreign Affairs to the Jamaat Ameer, Barrister Mir Ahmed Bin Kasem.

The meeting focused on maintaining friendly ties and fostering dialogue between the party and US officials, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding.
