Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar has said that his party will introduce Islamic rule if voted to power. He claimed that under Jamaat’s leadership, “every national problem will be solved one after another.”
Addressing a students and youth rally at Paikgacha College ground in Khulna on Saturday morning, Golam Parwar said that Jamaat plans to bring sweeping changes to the country’s education system.
He called on voters to support Jamaat-nominated candidate Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in the upcoming election. Urging supporters to stay united, he said, “When you see the ‘Scale’ symbol in the polling booth, say ‘Bismillah Scale,’ after voting say ‘Alhamdulillah Scale,’ and as you leave, say ‘Mashallah Scale.’”
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, also a central working committee member, said that no future election in Bangladesh should be held without the proportional representation (PR) system.
The event, chaired by Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Saeedur Rahman, was attended by central and district-level Jamaat leaders, including Islami Chhatra Shibir Secretary General Nurul Islam Saddam, district Naib-e-Ameer Maulana Golam Sarwar, and district secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman.
