BNP Executive Committee member and Assistant Secretary for International Affairs, Barrister Rumeen Farhana, has criticised the interim government, saying that all of its advisers hold foreign citizenship. “What more can I say about a safe exit? Every one of the advisers is a foreign citizen,” she remarked while addressing a BNP rally at Talshahar AAI High School ground at Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria on Friday evening.
The rally was organised to mobilise support for implementing BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform agenda.
Rumeen said, “If unrest breaks out in the country, these advisers can simply leave for abroad — but you and I cannot. None of us have visas ready for any country. I urge the government: do not engage in any wrongdoing, corruption, or false promises that might force you to seek a safe exit. Work with transparency, honesty, and patriotism so that you never need one.”
Local BNP leaders and activists from the upazila and union levels were present at the gathering.
