Cholera vaccination begins

Staff Reporter

The Preventive Oral Cholera Vaccination Campaign 2026 officially began across 14 high-risk upazilas and thanas in the country on Saturday, with free vaccines being administered to help prevent cholera.

The two-dose campaign will run in two phases. The first dose will be administered from August 22 to September 21, while the second dose will be given from September 26 to October 25.
People must receive both doses at the recommended interval to ensure full protection.

All healthy individuals aged one year and above are eligible for the vaccine, while pregnant women are excluded from the campaign. The vaccine is being provided free of charge.

Vaccination centres will remain open from 8AM to 5PM every day. Vaccines are being administered at designated centres and Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) booths in the 14 high-risk areas.
