The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has appointed German-American tactician Thomas Dooley as the new head coach of the Bangladesh Men’s National Football Team.
In a press release published on its official Facebook page at 10:01am on Friday, the country’s football governing body confirmed the appointment.
With over 43 years of experience in elite global football, Thomas Dooley represented the USA national team, including at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, and captained the side at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
He later served as assistant coach of the US national team under Jürgen Klinsmann from 2011 to 2014.
Coach Dooley is a specialist in building teams from the ground up and understands the unique challenges and strong passion of Asian football.
He previously led the Philippines to a historic unbeaten run in AFC Asian Cup qualification and their highest-ever FIFA ranking.
More recently, he served as head coach of Guyana, winning all four matches under his charge.
