Condolence motions for former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and others

The National Parliament on Thursday presented condolence motions for several prominent leaders.

Tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Pope Francis, and Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Additionally, condolence motions were introduced for former President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, Matia Chowdhury and 31 other former members of the parliament.

Meanwhile, a proposal was raised to include the names of Jamaat leaders who had been executed for war crimes during the Liberation War. The list included former Jamaat ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami, along with Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid, Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury, Maulana Abdus Subhan, Abdul Quader Mollah, Mir Quasem Ali, and Muhammad Kamaruzzaman.

The Speaker subsequently incorporated the proposal.
