HSC and equivalent results published

The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published on Thursday morning, with 58.83 per cent of average pass, a significant drop. Last year, the pass rate was 77.78 per cent which decreased by 18.95 per cent this year. Meanwhile, the highest grade of GPA-5 dropped below half. A total of 69,097 students secured GPA-5 this year.

Among the GPA-5 achievers, 26,063 in the Dhaka Board, 10,137 in Rajshahi, 2,707 in Cumilla, 5,995 in Jashore, 6,097 in Chattogram, 1,674 in Barishal, 1,602 in Sylhet, 6,260 in Dinajpur, 2,684 in Mymensingh, 4,268 in the Madrasah Board, and 1,610 in the Technical Education Board.

The results were released simultaneously on the respective websites of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Mymensingh as well as the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.

Professor Dr Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, formally announced the results at 10AM. Individual results will be available at the joint website of the education boards and the respective board websites.

This year, more than 1.25 million students appeared in the examinations —among them, 618,015 male and 633,096 female students – at 2,797 centres across the country.
