A BNP leader was shot and seriously injured in front of Millat Camp in the Mirpur-11 area of the capital on Friday evening.
The victim was identified as Alamgir, a member of the Nawabganj Upazila unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Dhaka district.
According to local sources, the shooting took place in front of Millat Camp at around Friday evening. Alamgir sustained serious injuries in the attack and was rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment.
The motive behind the shooting and the identities of those involved could not be immediately confirmed.
