Ilias, Rinvy to lead DU Journalism Alumni Association

A new executive committee of Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCJAA) for the 2026-2028 term has been formed with Elias Khan elected as president, Shahnaz Sharmeen Rinvy as general secretary and MD Masbud Bin Abdur Razzak as organising secretary.

The biennial election and annual general meeting of the association were held on Friday at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of the University of Dhaka.

Chief Election Commissioner Mahfuzur Rahman announced the results shortly after midnight following vote counting.

Election commissioners Zahid Newaz Khan, Daulat Akter Mala, Abu Saleh Akon and Angur Nahar Monti were also present during the announcement.

​According to the results, Elias Khan secured 275 votes to defeat his nearest rival, Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim, who received 126 votes in the presidential race.
