Bangladesh Jamaat-Islami and seven like-minded parties have started their march towards Jamuna, Chief Adviser's residence, to submit memorandum as per their pre-announced schedule.
Around 10AM on Thursday, Jamaat leaders and activists from Dhaka Metropolitan South thronged at Matijheel's Shapla Chattar with processions from different places. Later a brief rally was heldat Purana Paltanwhere top party leaders spoke and after that, they started the march to press-home their five-point demands.
Other political parties include, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Khelafat Majlis, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party.
Jamaat Assistant Secretary General AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad said the party would formally submit a memorandum to the government, calling for a referendum before the national election in February 2026.
