Jamaat calls protest rally immediate after sworn in

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has called a protest rally in the capital in response to what it described as the prevailing situation and instability in the country.

The protest rally is scheduled to begin at 3 PM on Tuesday (17 February).

The party’s Dhaka Metropolitan South unit will organise the programme.

In a press release, Abdus Sattar Suman, Assistant Secretary for Publicity of Jamaat’s Dhaka Metropolitan South, said a protest procession and rally would be held at the north gate of the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram.

The party said the demonstration is being staged to protest against the prevailing situation and instability in the country.
