Special metro rail schedule during Eid-ul-Azha holidays

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced a special metro rail schedule for the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, stating that services will remain suspended only on Eid day.

The revised timetable was disclosed in a notice signed by DMTCL Deputy Project Director (Public Relations) Md Ahsan Ullah Sharifi on Thursday.

According to the announcement, during the Eid holiday period, the first train from Uttara North Station will depart at 6:30 AM, while the first train from Motijheel Station will leave at 7:15 AM.

The last train from Uttara North will depart at 9:30 PM and the final service from Motijheel will leave at 10:10 PM.

DMTCL said train headways during the holidays will range from a minimum of 12 minutes to a maximum of 15 minutes.

Around 140 trips will be operated daily using seven train sets, although the number of trips may be adjusted depending on passenger demand.

Passengers will be able to purchase single journey tickets from 6:40 AM to 9:20 PM. MRT and Rapid Pass top-up services will also remain available throughout the holiday schedule.

On Fridays, single journey ticket sales will begin at 2:45 PM from Uttara North Station and at 3:05 PM from Motijheel Station.

The notice also stated that ticket counters and ticket vending machines at all metro rail stations will close after 9:20 PM each day.
