BNP will solve 7 major problems of Uttara

Desk Report

BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has said that the momentum of change achieved through the sacrifices of many people, must be sustained.

He assured that if the BNP forms the government, initiatives will be taken to solve seven major problems in Dhaka's Uttara area, including gas and water shortages, healthcare services, waterlogging, and traffic congestion.

He made these remarks while addressing at an election rally held at the Azampur Eidgah ground at Uttara late night on Tuesday.

Tarique arrived at the rally venue at 12:52AM after traveling from Mymensingh via Gazipur and delivered a brief speech.

At the beginning of his address, he apologised for arriving late, explaining that he was delayed due to exchanging greetings with people in various areas along the way.

Highlighting the problems in Uttara, the BNP chief said that despite paying bills regularly, residents are suffering from gas and water shortages. According to him, this crisis is not limited to Uttara alone, but exists across the country. He noted that the situation has become more complicated due to the prolonged halt in the exploration of new gas wells. He emphasized that resolving this crisis is essential for establishing new industries and creating employment opportunities.

''Over the past 16 to 17 years, people’s democratic rights had been taken away. Through the extraordinary sacrifices of the people of Uttara on August 5, a path has been created to reclaim those rights. Now is the time to rebuild the country.''
