Jamaat trying to Afghanize the country: Fakhrul

Desk Report

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Jamaat-e-Islami does not want Bangladesh to move forward and wants to turn the country into Afghanistan.

He made these remarks on Monday while campaigning in his constituency in Thakurgaon.

''Jamaat does not want women to work and wants them to remain confined to their homes.''

Referring to a recent post from the Jamaat Ameer's X account, Mirza Fakhrul said that if the Ameer made such misogynistic remarks, then he was in the wrong.

The country now has an opportunity to establish a justice-based state. The BNP wants a fair and transparent election environment involving all parties and is working towards that goal.

Addressing the voters, Mirza Fakhrul said that the country is now in your hands, so you must not make a wrong decision.
