7 new vice-chancellors (VCs)

The government has appointed new vice-chancellors (VCs) at seven universities across Bangladesh, including University of Dhaka and Jagannath University.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced the appointments at a press conference on Monday.

Prof. ABM Obaidul Islam has been appointed vice-chancellor of University of Dhaka, while Prof. Rais Uddin will serve as VC of Jagannath University.

Prof. Siddiqur Rahman Khan has been named VC of Bangladesh Open University and Prof. Nurul Islam has been appointed to Dhaka Central University.

Prof. Mohammad Masud will lead Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) as vice-chancellor, Prof. Md Al Forkan will head University of Chittagong, and Prof. Faridul Islam will take charge at University of Rajshahi.

The education minister expressed hope that the newly appointed vice-chancellors would play a key role in enhancing academic standards, advancing research activities and improving the overall management of their respective institutions.
